The Finance Links ("we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection law.
Who we are
The Finance Links is a private membership network for finance professionals in Denmark. Data controller: The Finance Links, contactable at member@thefinancelinks.dk.
What data we collect
We collect information you provide directly when you submit a membership application. This includes:
- Full name
- Current position and employer
- Years of experience in finance
- Golf handicap
- Name of the member who referred you
- Your written motivation for joining
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to:
- Evaluate your membership application
- Contact you regarding the outcome of your application
- Administer your membership if accepted, including event coordination and the member directory
We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose beyond direct membership administration.
Legal basis
We process your personal data on the basis of your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), provided when you submit your application. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
Data sharing
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. If accepted as a member, your name, title, company, and handicap may appear in the member directory, which is accessible only to other confirmed members behind a private login.
Retention
Applications from unsuccessful candidates are deleted within 90 days of the decision. Member data is retained for the duration of membership and deleted within 60 days of membership termination, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics scripts. We use
browser localStorage
solely for session authentication and language preference, neither of which
is transmitted to any server.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to processing or request restriction
- Lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet — the Danish Data Protection Authority
